Volsun produces high temperature resistant fiberglass sleeves and silicone rubber coated fiberglass sleeves. So what is the difference between them?

High temperature resistant fiberglass sleeves (also known as fixed pattern fiberglass sleeves) are special fiberglass sleeves made by weaving glass fibers into tubes and then undergoing high temperature shaping processes. This type of sleeve is an insulating sleeve without silicone rubber (or silicone oil). It has the advantages of excellent softness, smooth surface, no burrs, and no deformation when bending back and forth. It can withstand high temperatures of 400~600℃, and the insulation breakdown voltage is 800V-1000V. The biggest advantage of this insulating sleeve is high temperature resistance, but the withstand voltage cannot exceed 1000V. Another small disadvantage is that the shearing end is prone to hairiness, which is not as smooth as ordinary fiberglass sleeves. If the length used is too short, it may fall apart.

The specification range of this high temp fiberglass sleeve is Φ1mm~Φ35mm, which is more suitable for electrical insulation protection with higher temperature requirements.

Conventional fiberglass sleeves are silicone rubber coated fiberglass sleeves (also called silicone fiberglass sleeves or fiberglass sleeves), which are made by weaving alkali-free glass fibers into a tube, then coating them with organic silicone rubber, and curing them by heating. It has strong dielectric properties, high heat resistance, good self-extinguishing properties and softness. This insulating tube can withstand a maximum voltage of 7000V, and the shear end is relatively flat, without the small problems that occur in high temperature fiberglass sleeves. However, the maximum temperature resistance of this silicone rubber fiberglass sleeve can only reach 260℃, and the long-term continuous temperature resistance is 200℃ under normal circumstances.

The specification range of this fiberglass sleeve is Φ1mm~Φ25mm, and it is widely used for insulation protection of H-class insulated motors, household appliances, lighting, electric heating products, electrical equipment and heat-resistant electrical appliances.

What's more, the above two types of fiberglass sleeves have standard colors of white, black, red, blue, gray, yellow and green, which can be customized as required. These two types of insulating fiberglass sleeves are different and have their own advantages. Please choose the insulating fiberglass sleeve that best suits your application needs.
