Volsun cold shrink tube can be divided into two types. One is silicone rubber cold shrink tube, the other is EPDM rubber cold shrink tube. The most prominent differences of them are the shrink ratio and tear strength. For shrink ratio, silicone rubber type is 4:1 or so, the other is around 2.5:1. For tear strength, EPDM rubber is much stronger than the silicone rubber types.
Cold shrink tube is widely used for the cable joint or terminal insulation and protection. The installation is very easy like below picture:
