Volsun's EPDM cold shrink tubing is a type of rubber insulation sleeve that is pre-expanded onto a removable support tube. When in use, the support tube is simply removed and the sleeve shrinks to form a tight seal around the object it is covering. It provides excellent waterproof and moisture-proof sealing properties, making it an ideal solution for sealing communication cables, coaxial cables, and low-voltage power cables.
Compared to heat shrink tubing, Volsun's EPDM cold shrink tubing is more weather-resistant and UV-resistant, and does not become brittle over time. It is also more resistant to punctures, abrasion, and acid and alkali corrosion compared to silicone cold shrink tubing. In harsh environments, it can expand and contract in sync with the object it is covering, ensuring a tight and secure seal. Even in windy conditions, it can still maintain its excellent sealing performance.
EPDM cold shrink tubing is suitable for low-voltage power cables below 1KV and is available in a wide range of specifications, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, as well as aerial, underwater, and burial installations. Its strong and resilient radial pressure ensures long-term sealing of the cable, and it is easy to install without the need for heating or special tools. The joint does not require hot-melt adhesive or tape to strengthen the seal.
